The Value of an ESG Board
Eval has been active in environmental, social and governance issues since long before the ESG acronym was coined, but we believe there is always room for improvement and continuous improvement, and in particular we encourage the active contribution of our employees. On the environmental line we have a very modest carbon footprint, with a goal of total recycling and little use of plastic.
Our goal in this area is not to be zero carbon with respect to a particular year, but to be zero carbon with respect to the entire history of the company and its future. Furthermore it is our commitment to have a positive impact in terms of carbon balance on our customers, which occurs from our products, especially those that allow the elimination of paper. On the social and governance side, we are committed to diversity in hiring, transparency in information, and the growth of everyone in the company, including potential equity participation through an employee stock ownership program. We have already had many social actions and projects in the company, especially in supporting homeless people, but we are always looking for good ideas to collaborate with a positive transformation.
We know the value of a real chance for professional training and employment, especially for the younger ones. Together with ABAPE (Associação Batista da Penha) we have been working on professional training incentive programs in the communities of the Tiquatira region and on tutoring scholarships, especially in the IT area. Our goal is to motivate and bring interested people to a direct experience in the company, through internships and visits, accompanied by mentoring from our employees, so that they can have a solid start in Eval itself or in other companies in the area.
We recognize the value of nature as the foundation of life. New customers of our e-signature digital transformation line result in a proportional financial contribution, which Eval makes directly to the Ecofaxine Institute. Together with Ecofaxina we also planned actions directly with our collaborators to collect material from beaches and mangroves in the Santos region.
